who we are.

It all started when…

Laura met Kiki working at Jamie Oliver's Fifteen, way back in 2007, and built a friendship over a mutual love of food and wine.

Since then we’ve been on a mission to make wine accessible, believing that when it comes to wine, it should be a conversation that everyone can join in with.

After hosting pop ups under the A Grape Night In name between 2010-2014, Unwined was born in 2015 when we opened our first wine bar in Tooting, with our second site in Waterloo following shortly after in 2018. They’re a home away from home, a place where we open wines that we love and share with our community of wine lovers.

So what’s our wine taste, and will you like it? When it comes to the wines we select and buy, we ask one question. Does it offer value? If the answer is yes, and it’s delicious and even better, sustainably made - then it makes the cut for Unwined.

Unwined are looking for enthusiastic and wine-loving people to join our brilliant team, with a specific interest and passion for wine and keen to learn and grow within the company.

Combined foh & kitchen role.

Here's something you don't see often: one role, both sides of the business. In this role at Unwined, you'll learn the floor and the kitchen properly, which makes this a brilliant opportunity for anyone starting out in hospitality, and a natural fit for recent graduates of hospitality or culinary programmes looking to build real, rounded experience.

We're a small independent wine bar in Waterloo with a really interesting wine list, a kitchen that punches above its size, and regulars who actually talk to us.

You'll split your time between front of house; table service, looking after guests, talking (and learning) about wine, and the kitchen, where you'll help with prep, set-up, keeping things clean and assist on events. No wine expertise needed, just the appetite to learn, and we'll teach you the rest.

We're after someone who's as happy talking to a guest as they are prepping quietly before service - you’ll be curious, unflappable when it's busy, and genuinely interested in how good hospitality works.

Do a year with us and you'll have gained proper wine knowledge, and be able to hold your own in a kitchen - the kind of rounded grounding that's hard to get anywhere that keeps front and back of house in separate boxes.

In return:

£18+ p/hr including a share of service charge and gratuities, approx. 30–40 hours a week on a Tuesday–Saturday rota at our Waterloo site. Good base rate + service charge/tips, pro-rata annual leave, bank holidays off and a workplace pension as standard.

If the idea of learning a whole business rather than one corner of it appeals, we'd love to hear from you. Must be eligible to live and work in the UK without sponsorship.

To apply please email your CV + cover letter to jobs@unwinedbars.co.uk

wine co-ordinator & foh supervisor.

We're looking for a Wine Co-ordinator to join our small, passionate team at our independent wine bar and restaurant in Waterloo. It's a role for someone who wants to run a great floor and take real ownership of the wine - the list, the tastings, the knowledge that runs through the team. We're a small independent bar with a properly interesting list, a kitchen that punches above its size, and regulars who actually talk to us, and if you're excited by wine and want to be somewhere your ideas actually land, this is a proper step up.

This is a floor-based role where you'll lead by example, keep service running smoothly, and be the person the team looks to when it's busy. Alongside supervising FOH, you'll co-ordinate the wine side of the business - managing and curating the list, writing up wines, running stock and tastings, and being the team's first port of call for wine questions. Beyond that, you'll have a hand in our marketing, from the social plan to Instagram and the newsletter, and in the day-to-day operations: staff training and away days, supplier communication, keeping an eye across the site, and joining the weekly ops meeting with a real grasp of the numbers.

You might be a senior FOH team member ready to step up, or already supervising somewhere small and looking for a role with a genuine wine angle - either way, wine is the thing that excites you. Ideally you'll have WSET Level 2 or 3 (or be working towards it), strong wine knowledge and the curiosity to keep building it, solid table-service experience and a calm, confident presence when the room is full. Just as important is the organisation to juggle a list, a rota and a social plan without dropping any of them. Experience with list curation, training or tastings is a bonus, but if you've got the enthusiasm and the palate, we'll help you develop the rest.

In return:

£19+ p/hr including a share of service charge and gratuities, 40 hours a week alternating mon-fri & tue-sat rota, 20 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays, a workplace pension, and real room to grow.

If you want a role where you're running the floor and shaping the wine, we'd love to hear from you. Must be eligible to live and work in the UK without sponsorship.

To apply please email your CV + cover letter to jobs@unwinedbars.co.uk
