The South West of France is a treasure trove of rare grapes such as; Negret Pounjut.
It makes a light and funky red similar to a Jura red. Winemaker Marc who champions these rare grapes, found this ancient local variety 10 years ago. Pounjut means pointy in the Occitan language.
The berries are “pounjut”, pointy, like an olive shape. Marc is its only producer. The wine is only 10.5% alcohol and very chillable!
