Winemaker Kayleigh founded Rebel Rebel wines in the chaos of the 2020 vintage - making honest/natural wines. Kayleigh is a first generation winemaker, who grew up in Stellenbosch, she studied Viticulture and Oenology at Stellenbosch University, before travelling and working at wineries in Spain, America and South Africa. She decided to return home in 2018 when an opportunity arose to join Kaapzicht Wine Estate as assistant winemaker. She came across two special dry-farmed plots of Syrah and Colombard, and the rest is history! Her Syrah comes from the highest plot on the farm and is bathed by breezes from False Bay which means the grapes ripen slowly and preserve freshness.Aged in old barrels.
